My current
research focus lies in the realm of embodied cognition. (How) can a
psychological state influence the way we physically perceive
ourselves and the way we construe our environment - and ourselves
in it (e.g., feeling powerful makes us feel tall)? How (and why!)
do physical states, such as approach vs. avoidance movements,
influence the way we process information?
Also, I am working with the concept of affordances. Affordances are
features of a situation or an environment that foster particular
actions. Thus, the affordance structure of a situation drives
particular actions or choices from a range of possible actions. We
assume that such processes concerning implied physical affordances
are mediated by an embodied processing of the situation.
